يقدّم هذا الكتاب المفاهيمي „لحظة“.
وهي فعالية مؤقتة سُمّيت تيمّناً بالكلمة العربية التي تعني „لحظة واحدة“.

تم تطوير „لحظة“ لصالح أرشيف الشرق الأوسط.
الأرشيف ناشر متخصص في التصوير الفوتوغرافي ويركّز على الحياة اليومية في الشرق الأوسط والمغرب العربي.

غالبًا ما يُساء تمثيل هذه المنطقة في وسائل الإعلام الغربية.
تسيطر السرديات المرتبطة بالنزاعات وعدم الاستقرار على الصورة العامة.
هذا الأمر يُهمّش الثقافة اليومية الحقيقية.

تأتي „لحظة“ لفتح مساحة للتبادل الثقافي.
يشارك المبدعون المحليون ثقافتهم مع الزوار.
كما يُدعى الحضور لتذوق هذه الثقافات من خلال الحضور، التعبير الإبداعي، والحوار المفتوح.

بالنسبة لأرشيف الشرق الأوسط، تُعد „لحظة“ وسيلة مهمة لتعزيز رسالته.
الرسالة هي إبراز تفاصيل الحياة اليومية في المنطقة.
يتم ذلك عبر توفير منصة للتواصل والتفاهم.

تنطلق الفعالية من مدينة أمستردام.
هناك خطط للتوسّع مستقبلًا في مدن أخرى يتواجد فيها الأرشيف بالفعل.This concept presents Lahza, a pop-up event named after the Arabic word for “a moment’’. 

Laḥza is developed for the Middle East Archive (MEA), a photography publisher focused on everyday life in the Middle East and Maghreb. 
The region is often misrepresented in Western media, where conflict and instability dominate the narrative, leaving everyday culture overlooked. 
Laḥza responds by creating a space for cultural celebration, where local Middle Eastern creatives share their culture, and visitors are invited 
to experience a taste of these cultures through 
presence, creative expression, and conversation.

For MEA, Laḥza furthers its mission of sharing everyday life of the Middle East by creating moments shaped by joy and real human connection, 
making what is often overlooked feel present and relatable.

Amsterdam serves as the launch location, with potential 
for future expansions in cities where the Middle East Archive 
already has a presence.

في زمنٍ يزداد فيه الانقسام والاستقطاب،
يُصوَّر الشرق الأوسط في الإعلام الغربي من خلال الصراع والأزمات وعدم الاستقرار.

هذا التركيز الضيّق يخلق مسافة بين الناس والمنطقة،
ويُخفي الحياة اليومية بما فيها من تنوّع وعمق.

تبدو المنطقة غامضة أو أحادية الصورة،
بينما يعيش الناس واقعًا مختلفًا مليئًا بالحياة والتفاصيل الصغيرة.

هذا التصوير المحدود يخلق شعورًا بالانفصال وسوء الفهم،
ويجعل بعض أصحاب الخلفيات الشرق أوسطية يشعرون بالحذر،
أو يخفون أجزاء من هويتهم خوفًا من الحكم أو الإقصاء.

لهذا، هناك حاجة لخلق مساحات جديدة
تُظهر الحياة اليومية كما هي، ببساطتها وصدقها.

مساحات تُقرّب الناس من بعضهم،
وتحتفي بالثقافة والتعبير الإنساني.

فالاحتفاء بالحياة اليومية يفتح باب الفهم،
ويقلّل المسافة التي خلقتها الصور السائدة.In today’s climate of increasing division and polarisation, the Middle East is largely shown in Western media through conflict, crisis, and political instability .
This narrow focus shapes how people see the region and creates a sense of distance [1].The Middle East is often seen as unfamiliar or one-sided, while daily life and its many layers are overlooked [2]. 
This creates separation. These limited portrayals ignore how people live, express themselves, and connect with others [3]. 
For people with Middle Eastern backgrounds, this can lead to feeling misunderstood, or even feeling pressure to hide parts of their identity to avoid judgement or exclusion [4]. 

There is a growing need to create spaces that bring everyday life 
into focus to offer a more real and relatable view of the Middle East and its people. 
Cultural celebration makes this possible. 
It turns daily life into a shared experience shaped by joy and presence, helping to reduce the distance created by dominant narratives.[5].

لحظة، وتعني "moment" بالعربية، هي جوهر الحدث وإحساسه.
تسلّط الضوء على لحظات الحياة اليومية التي تكشف عمق الإنسان والثقافة.
وفي الوقت نفسه، "لحظة" هي تجربة عابرة تدعو الزوّار إلى العيش في الحاضر
 والمشاركة قبل أن تمضي.
لحظة تقدّم بيئة غامرة يشعر الزائر بالقرب منها من خلال أجوائها، وتغتني بمحتوى عميق ثقافيًا.
إنها تخلق مساحة دافئة، عصرية، ومتجذّرة في السياق الحضري والتعبير الثقافي في آنٍ واحد.Laḥza, meaning “a moment” in Arabic, is both the focus and the feeling of the event. It highlights small moments of everyday life that reveal human connection and cultural depth. At the same time, Laḥza is itself a moment , a shared experience that only exists briefly, encouraging visitors to be present and take part before it passes.
Lahza offers an immersive environment that feels relatable in its atmosphere and filled with cultural depth in its content. It creates a setting that is welcoming, contemporary, and rooted in both urban context and cultural expression.
